SSIP Food Closet

Sprout and MISI Community Solutions Volunteer Together to Support SSIP Food Closet

On Tuesday, September 16, the volunteer teams from MISI Community Solutions and Sprout Non-Profit came together for a morning of giving back at the SSIP Food Closet in South Sacramento. From 8:30 AM to noon, both groups enthusiastically pitched in to help with everything from setup and food distribution to guest support and cleanup.

This collaborative volunteer effort truly reflects our passion for supporting Sacramento’s most vulnerable neighbors, those facing food insecurity and homelessness. Working side by side with Sprout and SSIP volunteers, the MISI team strengthened our commitment to building a stronger, kinder community through partnership and service.

About SSIP Food Closet

The SSIP Food Closet has been serving South Sacramento since 1969, thanks to the hard work of seven local congregations, the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services, area grocery partners, Table Farm, and countless volunteers. Together, they provide emergency food to hundreds of households every single day.

For MISI, volunteering alongside Sprout and SSIP wasn’t just about giving back, it was about strengthening community connections. We’re proud to stand with organizations that care deeply about making sure no family goes hungry.

At the end of the day, it’s simple: when we work together, we make a bigger difference. One meal, one family, one community at a time.
